Tips for couponing

Have you thought about couponing and not sure where to start?
I was the same way. I got hooked on the coupon show that was on a few years ago. I had no idea they were breaking rules at the store, just to get air time, that show is longer on. But I did learn some tips n tricks from the ones that were on the show that were truthful.
Here's my tips :
  1. ALWAYS print a copy of the store policy. Not all cashiers know their own policy. I have run into this problem a few times, even managers didn't know. I had to show them my print off and then things were worked out.
 2.  Don't always assume you can use all the coupons you want. READ the fine print on coupons. Some will limit you to 2 to 4 a like coupons per transaction/ or day.
3. Carry a zippered binder ! I have found out the hard way that if you carry a regular binder that doesn't have zipper closure and drop it,coupons go flying all over the parking lot. LOL
4. Break your binder into sections of the store. In my binder,I have canned goods,bread,condiments..
5. Warn the people behind you you're using coupons. LOL I have had people whine and complain cause I'm a couponer. If they have a lot of items, I tend to let them go ahead of me to avoid the headache. If they are nice and instist you go ahead, I try to give them coupons for their products to use if I have any they need. Most people love to watcher a couponer get the deals n steals!

I am NOT a hoarder ! I do get things I can get free or dirt cheap with my coupons. I don't have piles, I have a few like 4 shampoo's on hand. I have 3 daughters and a boyfriend in the house. The items that I get free or don't need I DONATE to food banks and local women shelters. They love the help off items needed. Once in awhile I get a call from someone who knows someone who has had a fire and needs items and see's if I can work some coupon magic to help.
I also get animal products when I can with coupons, I donate them to the local humane society.
